Marin County, California
An invitation to step inside the creative process of a visionary pioneer known for designing movement systems that are both highly effective and capable of creating flow.
When movement is sequenced well, it allows the body to work deeper, the mind to quiet, and people enter a zone where physical, mental, and emotional benefits naturally align.
Movement is the medium Carrie uses to inspire and empower others. Through choreography, thoughtful conversation, and time in nature, these experiences create space for people to reconnect with their creativity, leadership, and sense of possibility.
THE EXPERIENCE
Movement Lab sessions take place at Carrie’s studio in Marin County and are primarily offered as one-on-one experiences or small gatherings for individuals and teams within the fitness and wellness industry.
Each experience begins with a choreographed movement session where participants step into Carrie’s current work and explore her approach to sequencing and flow. Carrie incorporates cables, springs, kettlebells, and weights while also utilizing plyo boxes, jump ropes, and mobility sticks. The movement, equipment, and sequencing principles explored can be applied across multiple modalities including functional training, Pilates, and barre.
Following the movement session, there is time for open conversation and Q&A. Participants are encouraged to bring ideas, questions, or challenges they are currently navigating—whether developing a new program, considering a pivot, making a leadership decision, or simply seeking fresh inspiration.
The goal of each experience is to be meaningful, impactful, and inspiring—while also practical and actionable.
Movement Lab sessions typically run from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and include a post-workout recovery snack and an optional hike in Marin’s surrounding landscape.

ABOUT CARRIE
Carrie Rezabek Dorr is the creator of Pure Barre and a visionary pioneer designing movement systems that are both highly effective and capable of creating flow.
A pioneer in fitness, Carrie created Pure Barre in 2001—before the boutique studio movement existed. What began as a single studio grew under her leadership to more than 100 franchised locations across the country, helping shape the early evolution of the boutique fitness industry.
Carrie is known for the intersection of creativity and intellect that shapes her work. A choreographer at heart, she approaches movement with the mind of a systems builder—designing sequencing that is both elegant and highly effective.
She graduated with high honors with both a business degree and a law degree, and over the past twenty-five years has served on boards and consulted for numerous fitness and wellness brands. Carrie has also been invited to speak to entrepreneurs, studio owners, and universities about her journey, creative process, innovation, entrepreneurship, and building meaningful businesses.
Before founding Pure Barre, Carrie choreographed large-scale productions including halftime shows, parades, and performance events. That background continues to inform her distinctive approach to movement—one built on musicality, intelligent sequencing, and the energy created in the room.
Carrie is also a mom of three and lives in Marin County, California.
